In T.P.O.'s journey to the sea, children from the audience accompanied by two professional dancers embark on an adventure of discovery in the Mediterranean — a cradle of nature, culture and myths. Bleu! begins on the idyllic Greek Islands amongst the stones, sea shells and whispers of ancient legends, wandering through bustling sea ports and finally diving into the deep blue abyss populated by fish, seaweeds, mollusks and mysterious ancient ruins of disappeared civilizations.
Italy's Compagnia T.P.O. (Teatro di Piazza o d'Occasione) creates works melding astonishing digital imagery with multidisciplinary performance techniques in the use of music, dance, art, sculpture, digital media, computer technology, lighting and sound. Using the children’s cheering carpet, a large dance mat able to animate sounds and images through pressure sensors, T.P.O. creates a "magic" carpet where, through movement and touch, it is possible to explore imaginary gardens creating a sensitive environment in which the thin border between art and play can be experienced.
Bleu! is ideal for children age 4 and older to teens, parents and grandparents. The audience will be seated onstage. Seating is limited.
