Flint Hills Children's Choir
"O Holy Night: Christmas Around the World"
3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17
The Flint Hills Children's Choir,or FHCC, a youth organization formed in 2015, serves girls and boys in grades 3-10 who live in the Greater Manhattan area. It offers an outstanding program of vocal training and music education. FHCC was developed by two local music educators: Janet Armstead, a retired music educator from St. George Elementary, and Janie Brokenicky, who is currently in vocal instruction at Kansas State University and a former music educator at the middle and secondary level. Their vision is to provide children in the Greater Manhattan area an avenue for musical growth and artistic expression as part of a team. Musically talented and motivated young people come together to produce high-quality, beautiful music from a wide variety of genres and styles. Students learn the value of leadership, self-discipline and teamwork as they join their voices in the pure, angelic tones that only talented children can achieve.
Join us for an evening of holiday music experienced through dance, strings and song. This special holiday concert will feature over 100 local talented students, with guest appearances by the Gold Orchestra and Washington Dance Studio.
