Confronting the role of the monarch in the balance between authority and chaos, “King Lear” reveals the beauty of selfless love, the heartache of betrayal and the descent of civilization into brutishness when selfish greed has run amuck.
Founded in 1975, Actors From The London Stage is one of the oldest touring Shakespeare theatre companies in the world.
Housed and workshopped in the U.K. and based in the United States at Shakespeare at Notre Dame, this residency program visits 16-18 universities per year. This one-week program will present students and faculty with an opportunity to experience a cross-disciplinary, in-depth and dynamic set of workshops, further enhanced by the performances of one of Shakespeare’s great masterpieces.
